Marica Hase was born as 長谷真理香 (Hase Marika) on September 26, 1981, in Tokyo, Japan. Growing up in the vibrant capital, she developed an early interest in modeling and entertainment. Before entering adult entertainment, she worked as a gravure model, appearing in a series of nude photo DVDs and building a small but dedicated fan base in Japan. Her early work in gravure helped her gain valuable experience in front of the camera and laid the foundation for her later transitions in the entertainment world.
Marica’s official debut in the adult video (AV) industry came in December 2009 under the SOD Create studio, after winning the sponsored “Tinkle” award at the first SOD Star Cinderella audition earlier that year. Initially credited simply as “Marika,” she soon reverted to her full stage name, Marica Hase. Over the next few years, she worked with several prominent AV companies in Japan, including Japan Home Video’s EROTICA series and others, producing more than 200 adult titles in the Japanese market by the time she decided to expand internationally.
In March 2012, Marica announced on her blog that she would be pursuing opportunities abroad, moving to the United States to further her career. This was a bold step for a Japanese AV performer, as it involved entering a highly competitive international market. In January 2013, she was featured as Penthouse’s Pet of the Month, a milestone that helped introduce her to a broader Western audience. From that point on, she steadily built her presence in the American adult entertainment industry, working with widely recognized studios and performers.
